Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive hardware setup, installation, and configuration for new workstations, laptops, servers, and peripheral devices.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex hardware failures, identifying root causes and implementing effective, lasting solutions.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and regular health checks on IT equipment to ensure optimal performance, security, and longevity.
- Upgrade and replace hardware components as necessary, efficiently managing inventory and spare parts.
- Provide timely and clear technical support to end-users for all hardware-related issues, offering concise and actionable solutions.
- Document all hardware configurations, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting steps accurately and thoroughly.
- Collaborate closely with network and software teams to ensure seamless integration and compatibility of hardware components.
- Adhere strictly to IT security policies and best practices during all hardware setup, maintenance, and repair tasks.
- Assist in the procurement process for new IT hardware, providing technical specifications and well-researched recommendations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) in hardware installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for PC, laptop, server, and various peripheral hardware.
- Proficiency with various operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) in a hardware context.
- Fundamental knowledge of network hardware components (routers, switches, access points, firewalls).
