Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and proficient IT Technician with a strong focus on hardware setup and troubleshooting to join our growing team in Holbeck, Leeds. In this pivotal role, you will be the frontline support for our internal IT infrastructure, ensuring all hardware components are functioning optimally, from initial deployment to ongoing maintenance and swift resolution of technical issues. This position requires a hands-on approach, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of system availability and performance. You will be responsible for installing, configuring, and supporting workstations, laptops, printers, networking devices, and other peripheral equipment, ensuring our employees have the reliable tools they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and deploy new hardware (desktops, laptops, printers, monitors, peripherals) for new and existing employees.
- Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshoot hardware and basic software issues to identify and resolve problems quickly and efficiently.
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance on IT equipment to ensure optimal performance and extend hardware lifespan.
- Manage IT asset inventory, including tracking hardware assignments, relocations, and disposals.
- Provide first-line technical support to end-users, addressing hardware-related queries and issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist with network connectivity issues, including basic router/switch configuration and cable management.
- Document all troubleshooting steps, solutions, and hardware configurations for knowledge base development.
- Collaborate with senior IT staff on larger projects, system upgrades, and infrastructure improvements.
- Ensure compliance with company IT policies, security procedures, and industry best practices.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in hardware installation, configuration, and troubleshooting for Windows-based systems.
- Strong understanding of PC architecture, components, and common peripherals.
- Familiarity with network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and basic troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving issues with operating systems (Windows 10/11) and standard office applications.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- CompTIA A+ or equivalent IT certification.
- Experience with IT service desk ticketing systems.
- Prior experience in an IT support role within a corporate environment.
- Basic knowledge of Office 365 administration.
- Familiarity with macOS troubleshooting.
