Job Description

Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) is seeking a dedicated and proactive IT Technician to join our Malindi branch team. In this critical on-site role, you will be the first point of contact for all technical inquiries, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our IT systems and infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level technical support for all hardware, software, and network-related issues to branch staff.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, network devices, printers, and other peripherals.
  • Perform routine diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs for IT equipment.
  • Administer and support Microsoft Windows operating systems and Office applications.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in line with bank policies.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues (LAN/WAN).
  • Ensure data backup procedures are followed and data integrity is maintained.
  • Assist in the implementation of new IT systems and software rollouts.
  • Conduct IT asset inventory and maintenance records.
  • Provide basic training and guidance to users on IT best practices and security awareness.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior IT personnel or external vendors when necessary.
  • Adhere strictly to KCB's IT security policies and compliance standards.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in IT support, help desk, or technical support roles.
  • Strong understanding of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows), and common software applications (MS Office Suite).
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi).
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users.
  • Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.
