Lesotho Electricity Company (LEC) is seeking a Janitorial Attendant to join our team in Qomoqomong, Quthing. This full-time position is crucial for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our employees and visitors. As a Janitorial Attendant, you will be responsible for upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene across our facility, ensuring that all areas are presentable and conducive to a productive work setting. Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming floors, and dusting surfaces in offices, hallways, and common areas.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies (toilet paper, soap, paper towels) regularly.
- Empty waste bins and transport trash and waste to designated disposal areas.
- Clean windows, glass surfaces, and interior walls as needed.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is maintained in good working order and stored properly.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when supplies need to be reordered.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals.
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards observed during cleaning tasks.
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks or setting up/taking down furniture for meetings/events as requested.
- Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor with staff and visitors.
Required Skills
- Ability to read and understand basic cleaning instructions and safety procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and a thorough approach to cleaning tasks.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks requiring standing, walking, bending, lifting (up to 25 lbs), and pushing/pulling.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their safe usage.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a janitorial or custodial role.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations pertinent to cleaning.
