Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough research on assigned topics and emerging news stories within Côte-des-Neiges and surrounding Montreal areas.
  • Interview diverse sources, including community leaders, residents, and experts, to gather accurate and compelling information.
  • Write clear, concise, and engaging news articles, features, and reports under tight deadlines, adhering to journalistic standards and ethics.
  • Assist in fact-checking and verifying information to ensure accuracy and credibility of all published content.
  • Learn to utilize various multimedia tools (photography, video, audio) to enhance storytelling for digital platforms.
  • Attend local events, press conferences, and community meetings to identify potential news angles and build local contacts.
  • Collaborate closely with editors and senior reporters, actively participating in newsroom discussions and pitching story ideas.
