Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Judge’s Associate to support a distinguished member of the judiciary in Altstadt, Bremen. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth legal research on complex points of law, precedents, and statutes relevant to ongoing cases.
  • Draft legal memoranda, opinions, orders, and judgments under the judge's supervision.
  • Prepare comprehensive summaries of briefs, motions, and evidence for judicial review.
  • Assist in the management of court dockets, schedules, and case files.
  • Attend court proceedings, including hearings, trials, and conferences, and take detailed notes.
  • Liaise with legal counsel, court staff, and other stakeholders with professionalism and discretion.
  • Verify citations and statutory references in judicial documents for accuracy.
  • Provide administrative support to the judge's chambers as required.

Required Skills

  • Completed Law Degree (Staatsexamen or equivalent) with strong academic performance.
  • Exceptional legal research and analytical skills.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills in German and English.
  • Proficiency in legal research databases (e.g., Juris, Beck-Online).
  • Ability to synthesize complex information accurately and concisely.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in additional languages (e.g., French, Spanish).
  • Experience with advanced legal writing and drafting.
  • Prior internship or clerkship experience within a court or legal institution.
