You will work closely with our Senior Accountant and Finance Manager, gaining hands-on experience across various financial functions, from accounts payable and receivable to general ledger entries and reconciliations. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Process invoices, expense reports, and payment transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entry preparation and financial statement compilation.
  • Maintain organized and comprehensive financial records and documentation.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and analyses as required.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Respond to financial inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to process improvements within the finance department.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada (with visa sponsorship).

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or finance role (internships count).
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Sage).
  • Fluency in French (asset, not mandatory).
  • Progress towards a professional accounting designation (e.g., CPA).
  • Experience working in a recruitment or service-based industry.
