Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior economists in collecting, cleaning, validating, and analyzing economic and financial data from various primary and secondary sources.
  • Conduct preliminary research and synthesize findings on market trends, industry developments, regulatory changes, and macroeconomic factors impacting client portfolios and regional economies.
  • Prepare clear statistical summaries, engaging charts, and informative graphs to visualize complex data for internal reports and client presentations.
  • Draft comprehensive sections of economic reports, white papers, policy briefs, and client-facing documents under direct supervision.
  • Maintain and update economic databases and analytical models, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and accessibility.
  • Support the team in developing, refining, and testing forecasting models and advanced analytical tools.
  • Monitor global and regional economic news, policy shifts, and geopolitical developments, providing concise and timely summaries to the team.
  • Actively participate in team meetings, contributing ideas, insights, and analytical support to ongoing projects and new initiatives.
  • Ensure all research and analytical work adheres strictly to internal quality standards, methodological rigor, and ethical guidelines.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Econometrics, Statistics, or a closely related quantitative field.
  • Strong foundational understanding of macroeconomic and microeconomic principles and their application.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., R, Python with Pandas/NumPy, Stata, EViews) or advanced Excel for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Excellent data collection, organization, cleaning, and analytical reasoning skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret complex data sets and communicate findings clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English for professional and client interactions.
  • Strong attention to detail, commitment to accuracy, and a proactive problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Economics or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Prior internship or professional work experience (e.g., 6-12 months) in economic research, financial analysis, consulting, or a relevant government agency.
  • Familiarity with financial data platforms such as Bloomberg Terminal, Refinitiv Eikon, or similar.
  • Practical knowledge of econometrics and statistical modeling techniques (e.g., regression analysis, time series forecasting).
  • Proficiency in Arabic, given the regional focus, is considered a significant advantage.
