As a Junior Tailor, you will play a crucial supporting role in the creation of bespoke garments and collections, working alongside experienced designers and tailors. Your daily tasks will involve everything from cutting fabrics and performing precise measurements to machine sewing, hand finishing, and garment alterations. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, a steady hand, and an unwavering commitment to quality. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior tailors and designers in all stages of garment production, from concept to completion.
- Perform precise measurements and accurate fabric cutting according to patterns and design specifications.
- Operate industrial and domestic sewing machines proficiently for various garment construction tasks.
- Execute hand-finishing techniques, including hemming, buttonhole creation, and embellishments.
- Conduct garment alterations and repairs with a keen eye for detail and fit.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly cared for.
- Contribute to quality control checks, ensuring all garments meet high standards before dispatch.
- Learn and apply new tailoring techniques and processes as guided by senior staff.
- Support inventory management of fabrics, notions, and supplies.
