Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of food items, including chopping vegetables, preparing burger patties, marinating meats, and assembling ingredients according to Steers recipes and precise standards.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, fryers, ovens, and other cooking apparatus, ensuring proper usage and temperature control.
  • Maintain strict adherence to all food safety and hygiene regulations, ensuring all work areas, surfaces, and equipment are meticulously cleaned and sanitized throughout the shift.
  • Monitor stock levels of ingredients and supplies, communicating needs to the kitchen manager promptly to ensure continuous and smooth operations without interruption.
  • Receive and store deliveries, carefully checking for quality, quantity, and ensuring proper rotation of stock (First-In, First-Out) to minimize waste.
  • Clean and wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans thoroughly throughout the shift and at closing, ensuring all kitchenware is ready for the next service.
  • Support the kitchen team in various tasks, including plating, packaging, and assisting with customer orders to ensure efficient service delivery during peak hours.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures diligently, including health, safety, and operational guidelines, to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
  • Assist with waste management and recycling initiatives within the kitchen, contributing to our environmental responsibility efforts.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment, fostering respect and effective communication among all staff members.

Required Skills

  • Ability to work effectively and calmly in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions and recipes accurately.
  • Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety principles, including cross-contamination prevention.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights (up to 20kg), and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Reliable, punctual, and possessing a strong work ethic with a proactive attitude.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work harmoniously with colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a kitchen assistant, commis chef, or in a similar fast-food role.
