Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a wide variety of dishes according to established recipes, quality standards, and portion control guidelines.
  • Ensure all food preparation areas and kitchen equipment are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, adhering strictly to food safety regulations (HACCP principles).
  • Monitor food stock levels, assist with inventory management, and ensure proper storage and rotation of ingredients to minimize waste.
  • Collaborate effectively with the Head Chef and other kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation, manage workflow, and ensure timely service during peak hours.
  • Operate and maintain all kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, reporting any malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly.
  • Contribute to menu development and specials, offering creative ideas and experimenting with new recipes under the Head Chef's guidance.
  • Handle special dietary requests and allergies with care and accuracy, ensuring customer satisfaction and safety.
  • Assist in training new kitchen staff on cooking techniques, hygiene standards, and operational procedures.
  • Maintain a professional and positive attitude, fostering a collaborative and respectful work environment.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Kitchen Cook or similar role in a busy restaurant or hospitality setting.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Strong understanding and strict adherence to food safety and sanitation regulations (e.g., HACCP).
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
