Key Responsibilities
- Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, chopping vegetables, and portioning ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans.
- Operate and clean kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, mixers, and other tools as instructed.
- Ensure all kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas are kept clean and sanitized according to strict hygiene standards.
- Receive and properly store deliveries, ensuring ingredients are rotated and stored at appropriate temperatures.
- Dispose of kitchen waste responsibly and regularly.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including food safety and occupational safety standards.
- Support the culinary team during peak service hours, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the head chef or supervisor immediately.
- Assist with inventory management by notifying the team when supplies are low.
