Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior laboratory technologists and scientists with routine laboratory tasks and procedures.
- Prepare laboratory equipment and workstations, ensuring cleanliness, sterilization, and readiness for experiments and tests.
- Handle and process biological samples (e.g., blood, urine, tissue) under strict supervision and according to established protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of samples, tests performed, and results in logbooks and laboratory information systems.
- Assist with inventory management, including tracking supplies, reagents, and chemicals, and reporting shortages promptly.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety guidelines, hygiene standards, and waste disposal procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Perform basic equipment maintenance and calibration under guidance to ensure optimal functionality.
- Learn and apply quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Participate actively in training sessions and workshops to enhance laboratory skills and theoretical knowledge.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with other laboratory staff and healthcare professionals.
- Undertake any other duties as assigned by the laboratory management to support overall departmental operations.
Required Skills
- Completion of O-Level or A-Level education, preferably with a strong background in science subjects (Biology, Chemistry).
- Strong eagerness to learn, a proactive attitude, and a desire for continuous improvement.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in executing tasks.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively in a team.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously and adhere to established protocols.
