Wisynco Group Limited is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Entry-Level Lab Technician to join our innovative R&D team in Spanish Town, St. Catherine. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare samples and reagents for various chemical, physical, and microbiological analyses.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and experiments accurately under supervision, following established protocols.
- Accurately record and document experimental data, observations, and results in lab notebooks and digital systems.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation to ensure proper functioning.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, quality control procedures, and good laboratory practices (GLP) and good manufacturing practices (GMP).
- Assist in the inventory management of laboratory supplies, chemicals, and reagents.
- Contribute to the general cleanliness, organization, and upkeep of the laboratory environment.
- Support senior technicians and scientists in research projects, data analysis, and troubleshooting.
- Assist in the preparation of lab reports and presentations as required.
Required Skills
- Foundational knowledge of chemistry, biology, or food science principles.
- Basic understanding of laboratory safety procedures and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in executing tasks and recording data.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions meticulously.
- Basic computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for clear reporting and collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science, Applied Science, or a closely related scientific field.
- Prior experience in a laboratory setting (academic coursework, industrial internships, or volunteer experience is a plus).
- Familiarity with Quality Control (QC) or Research & Development (R&D) processes in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of specific laboratory equipment (e.g., pH meters, spectrophotometers, refractometers).
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as an integral part of a team.
- Proactive attitude towards learning new techniques and adapting to new challenges.
