Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare samples and reagents for experiments and analyses with precision and accuracy.
  • Operate and maintain standard laboratory equipment, including centrifuges, pH meters, spectrophotometers, and microscopes.
  • Perform routine laboratory tasks such as media preparation, sterilization, and general lab upkeep.
  • Accurately record and document experimental data, observations, and results in lab notebooks or digital systems.
  • Assist senior researchers and scientists with experimental setup and execution.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, quality control standards, and good laboratory practices (GLP).
  • Manage laboratory inventory, including tracking supplies and reagents, and assisting with ordering.
  • Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report more complex problems to senior staff.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to scientific discussions as appropriate.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Medical Technology, or a related scientific field.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of laboratory techniques and safety procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and documentation.
  • Ability to follow precise instructions and experimental protocols.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous laboratory experience (e.g., through academic projects, internships, or volunteer work).
  • Familiarity with specific analytical instruments relevant to R&D (e.g., HPLC, GC, PCR).
  • Understanding of quality assurance and quality control principles.
  • Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
