Key Responsibilities
- Prepare samples and reagents for experiments following established protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate various laboratory equipment, ensuring proper functionality and cleanliness.
- Accurately record and document experimental data, observations, and results in lab notebooks and electronic systems.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and analyses under supervision, ensuring precision and reliability.
- Assist senior technicians and scientists with complex experiments, data collection, and troubleshooting.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment in compliance with all safety regulations and guidelines.
- Manage laboratory supplies and inventory, reporting needs for replenishment.
- Dispose of chemical and biological waste properly according to safety and environmental standards.
- Participate in team meetings, contributing ideas and learning from experienced colleagues.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a scientific field (e.g., Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Medical Technology) is highly preferred.
- Basic understanding of laboratory safety procedures and good laboratory practices (GLP).
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel).
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Problem-solving aptitude and a willingness to learn new techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (academic or professional) in a laboratory setting, even if brief.
- Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) is a plus.
