Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior researchers and scientists with experimental setup, execution, and data collection.
- Prepare reagents, media, and solutions according to established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Perform routine laboratory maintenance, including cleaning equipment, sterilizing glassware, and managing waste disposal.
- Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records, notebooks, and digital documentation.
- Operate and calibrate laboratory instruments such as pH meters, centrifuges, spectrophotometers, and microscopes.
- Monitor inventory levels of lab supplies and chemicals, and assist with ordering and restocking.
- Adhere strictly to all laboratory safety regulations and quality control procedures.
- Process and organize samples for various analytical tests and experiments.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions and report larger issues to supervisors.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions regarding experimental design and results.
Required Skills
- Foundational understanding of laboratory safety protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Proficiency in basic mathematical calculations relevant to solution preparation and data analysis.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in experimental work and record-keeping.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
