Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Lab Technician to join our dynamic Research & Development team in May Pen, Clarendon. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tasks under the guidance of senior scientists and technicians. Your daily activities will include preparing samples, operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, accurately recording data, and ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols and quality standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare samples, reagents, and solutions accurately and efficiently for experimental procedures.
  • Operate, calibrate, and perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment such as pH meters, centrifuges, and spectrophotometers.
  • Record, organize, and present experimental data meticulously, maintaining comprehensive lab notebooks and digital records.
  • Strictly adhere to laboratory safety regulations, quality control standards, and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
  • Assist senior scientists and researchers with experimental setup, execution, and data collection.
  • Perform basic analytical tests and report results as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory workspace.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions regarding experimental outcomes and future research directions.
  • Manage laboratory inventory, including tracking supplies and initiating reorder requests.

Required Skills

  • Foundational understanding of basic laboratory techniques and safety procedures.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
