Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Entry-Level Lab Technician to join our innovative Research & Development team in Marlie Mount, Old Harbour. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine laboratory tasks including sample preparation, solution preparation, and reagent management.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment such as centrifuges, pH meters, spectrophotometers, and analytical balances.
- Accurately record and document experimental data, observations, and results in laboratory notebooks and digital systems.
- Assist senior researchers in conducting experiments and studies, following established protocols and procedures.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, quality control standards, and good laboratory practices (GLP).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory workspace, including proper disposal of chemical and biological waste.
- Monitor inventory of lab supplies, chemicals, and consumables, and assist with ordering and restocking.
- Conduct preliminary data analysis and report findings to supervisors.
- Participate in team meetings, contributing to discussions and sharing insights.
- Learn and adapt to new techniques, methodologies, and instrumentation as required by research projects.
Required Skills
- Associate's degree or Diploma in a scientific discipline (e.g., Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Medical Technology).
- Basic knowledge of laboratory techniques and safety procedures.
- Proficiency in using standard laboratory equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions precisely.
- Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
