Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Landscape Architect to join our growing team in Babelsberg, Potsdam. This is an exceptional opportunity for a creative and detail-oriented professional to contribute to diverse and challenging projects, ranging from urban parks and public spaces to residential developments and ecological restoration initiatives. As a Landscape Architect, you will play a crucial role in all phases of project development, from conceptual design and master planning to detailed design, construction documentation, and site supervision. We are looking for an individual who possesses a strong understanding of landscape principles, sustainability practices, and regulatory requirements, coupled with excellent design skills and technical proficiency. You will work closely with clients, interdisciplinary teams, and stakeholders, transforming visions into tangible, beautiful, and functional landscapes that enhance both human well-being and ecological health. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to all phases of landscape architecture projects, including conceptual design, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation.
  • Prepare high-quality presentations, drawings, specifications, and reports using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Vectorworks), Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D modeling tools (e.g., SketchUp, Rhino).
  • Conduct site analyses, feasibility studies, and research to inform design solutions and ensure compliance with local regulations and environmental standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with clients, architects, urban planners, engineers, and other consultants to integrate landscape design seamlessly within broader project goals.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within financial parameters.
  • Oversee construction administration, including site visits, contractor coordination, and review of shop drawings and material submittals.
  • Develop innovative and sustainable landscape solutions, incorporating principles of ecological design, water management, native plantings, and green infrastructure.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment.

Required Skills

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in landscape architecture.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or Vectorworks, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), and SketchUp.
  • Strong graphic communication and visualization skills (rendering, hand sketching, digital presentations).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English.
  • Thorough understanding of relevant German planning and building codes (e.g., BauGB, LBO, DIN standards).
  • Demonstrated experience in sustainable landscape design principles and practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional registration/licensure as a Landscape Architect (e.g., member of Architektenkammer).
  • Experience with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS).
  • Familiarity with parametric design tools (e.g., Grasshopper).
  • Experience in ecological restoration or water-sensitive urban design projects.
  • Portfolio demonstrating a range of project experience and design capabilities.
