Career.zycto is seeking a talented and passionate Landscape Architect to join a prominent design firm based in Vacoas-Phoenix, Mauritius. This exciting full-time opportunity calls for a creative professional with a strong understanding of landscape design principles, excellent technical skills, and a genuine desire to craft stunning and sustainable outdoor environments. You will be instrumental in conceptualizing, designing, and overseeing the implementation of diverse landscape projects, ranging from private residential gardens and commercial developments to public parks and resort landscapes across Mauritius. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, a commitment to ecological sustainability, and the ability to translate client visions into innovative and practical designs. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive site analyses, including environmental factors, existing conditions, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop innovative conceptual designs, master plans, and detailed landscape architectural drawings.
- Prepare comprehensive planting plans, hardscape details, irrigation layouts, and lighting schemes.
- Select appropriate materials, plants, and construction methods suitable for the local climate and context.
- Present design concepts to clients, incorporating feedback and ensuring their vision is realised.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, and contractors.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources from initial concept through to completion.
- Ensure all designs comply with local planning regulations, environmental standards, and building codes.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure design integrity during construction.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and specifications for landscape projects.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in landscape design and project management.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign).
- Strong graphic and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Extensive knowledge of tropical flora and sustainable planting design principles.
- Understanding of grading, drainage, and irrigation system principles.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and attention to detail abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Landscape Architecture.
- Professional registration or licensure (if applicable in Mauritius).
- Experience with 3D rendering software such as Lumion or V-Ray.
