Based in Palma, Quatre Bornes, this pivotal full-time role offers an unparalleled opportunity to influence the aesthetic and environmental future of our diverse portfolio, which spans residential communities, innovative commercial hubs, and vibrant leisure spaces across the island. We are looking for an individual who is not just an architect, but an artist of outdoor environments, someone who can seamlessly blend functionality with breathtaking beauty and sustainable design principles.
As a Landscape Architect specializing in garden and layout design, you will be at the forefront of conceptualizing, planning, and executing sustainable and inspiring outdoor spaces. From initial conceptual sketches that capture the essence of a project to the meticulous development of detailed construction documents, your expertise will be instrumental in transforming visions into tangible realities. You will conduct thorough site analyses, integrating environmental considerations, existing topography, and cultural nuances to create designs that are both innovative and harmonious with their surroundings. Your responsibilities will extend to developing planting palettes suited for Mauritius’s tropical climate, designing efficient irrigation systems, and specifying hardscape materials that contribute to the overall aesthetic and durability of our landscapes.
Collaboration is key at Medine. You will work closely with multidisciplinary internal teams, including master planners, urban designers, architects, and engineers, ensuring a holistic approach to project development. Your role will also involve engaging with external consultants, contractors, and stakeholders, presenting design concepts with clarity and conviction, and translating feedback into refined solutions. We emphasize sustainable design practices, so a strong understanding of ecological principles, water conservation techniques, and native planting strategies is essential. This role demands a passion for innovation, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to delivering projects that not only meet but exceed expectations. Join us in creating iconic landscapes that enhance the quality of life and stand as testament to thoughtful design and environmental stewardship in Mauritius.
