Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and meticulous Laundry Attendant to join our dedicated team at Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort & Spa. This pivotal role is essential in upholding the high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction that define our luxury establishment. As a Laundry Attendant, you will be responsible for the efficient processing of all hotel linens, uniforms, and guest laundry, ensuring they are impeccably cleaned, pressed, and readily available for use. Your daily tasks will include operating commercial laundry equipment, meticulously sorting items by type and color, identifying and expertly treating stains, and ensuring all items are washed and dried according to specific fabric requirements and hygiene protocols. Furthermore, you will be responsible for folding, ironing, and organizing laundry with precision, preparing them for delivery back to rooms, restaurants, and other hotel departments.
This position requires an individual with exceptional attention to detail, a proactive approach to maintaining a smooth and efficient laundry operation, and a deep understanding of the importance of cleanliness in a luxury hospitality setting. You will work closely with other departments, particularly Housekeeping and Food & Beverage, to meet their daily linen requirements, directly contributing to the comfort and pristine environment of our guest rooms, dining areas, and event spaces. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain commercial laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, and ironers, adhering to safety guidelines.
- Sort and categorize all incoming laundry items (guest laundry, linens, uniforms) according to fabric type, color, and required wash cycle.
- Identify and pre-treat stains effectively using appropriate stain removal techniques and chemicals.
- Load, wash, dry, and iron laundry items following established procedures and quality standards.
- Fold, press, and organize clean laundry neatly, ensuring it is ready for distribution to various hotel departments or guests.
- Inspect all items for cleanliness and damage, reporting any issues to the supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the laundry area.
- Adhere strictly to all hygiene and sanitation standards set by the hotel and local regulations.
- Monitor laundry supply levels and communicate needs for replenishment to the supervisor.
- Assist with inventory counts and record-keeping related to laundry operations.
- Handle guest laundry requests with care and discretion, ensuring timely delivery.
- Collaborate effectively with housekeeping and other departments to meet linen demands.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Laundry Attendant or similar role, preferably in a hotel setting.
- Proficiency in operating commercial laundry equipment.
- Knowledge of different fabric types and appropriate washing/drying methods.
- Ability to identify and treat various stains effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality results.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy loads and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of health, safety, and hygiene standards in a laundry environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certification in hospitality or laundry services.
- Previous experience in a 4-star or 5-star hotel environment.
