Key Responsibilities
- Sort and categorize linens, uniforms, and other fabric items according to material, colour, and cleaning requirements.
- Operate commercial washing machines, dryers, and ironing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Inspect items for stains, damage, and wear, applying appropriate pre-treatment and stain removal techniques.
- Fold, stack, and organize clean linens and textiles with precision, ensuring they are ready for storage or immediate use.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laundry area, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels of detergents, supplies, and linens, reporting needs to management.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on laundry equipment and report any malfunctions promptly.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a laundry or similar housekeeping role, preferably 1 year.
- Knowledge of various fabric types and appropriate washing/drying methods.
- Ability to operate commercial laundry equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality results.
- Good physical stamina and ability to stand, lift, and move heavy loads.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
