Key Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain industrial laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, and ironers, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards are met.
  • Sort, wash, dry, fold, and press a wide variety of linens and fabrics according to specified instructions and material type, maintaining pristine condition.
  • Thoroughly inspect all items for stains, damage, or wear and tear before and after processing, escalating any significant issues for repair or replacement.
  • Accurately manage and track inventory of all linens and laundry supplies, reporting low stock levels to ensure continuous operation without interruption.
  • Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations and company policies, maintaining a clean and organised work environment at all times.
  • Ensure all processed items are correctly stored and readily available for distribution or immediate use, optimising workflow and accessibility.
  • Perform routine cleaning and preventative maintenance of the laundry area and equipment to prolong lifespan and ensure efficient operation.
  • Promptly report any equipment malfunctions, maintenance needs, or safety concerns to the supervisor to prevent downtime and ensure a safe working environment.

Required Skills

  • Proven ability to safely and efficiently operate laundry machinery (washers, dryers, ironers).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, spotless results.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively to meet operational deadlines.
  • Physical stamina and capability to stand for extended periods, lift, push, and move heavy loads (up to 25kg) throughout a shift.
  • Basic understanding of various cleaning agents, detergents, and fabric care instructions.
  • Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a dedicated team.
  • Adherence to strict hygiene and safety protocols.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (6+ months) in a commercial laundry, hospitality, or similar fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of different fabric types and appropriate cleaning and pressing methods.
  • Basic understanding of inventory management procedures.
  • First Aid certification or willingness to undertake training.
