Lakeside Hotel & Conference Centre is seeking a dedicated and proactive Laundry Manager to join our dynamic team with an immediate start. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage daily laundry operations, including washing, drying, ironing, folding, and distributing linens, towels, and uniforms for hotel guests and staff.
- Lead, train, mentor, and schedule the laundry team, fostering a productive and positive work environment.
- Ensure all laundry equipment is maintained in optimal working condition and promptly arrange for repairs when necessary.
- Implement and enforce strict quality control standards to ensure all items are cleaned to the highest specifications and free from damage.
- Manage inventory of linens, detergents, chemicals, and other supplies, placing orders as needed to prevent shortages.
- Develop and monitor operational budgets, striving for cost-effectiveness without compromising quality.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations, as well as environmental best practices in laundry operations.
- Maintain accurate records of laundry production, inventory, and equipment maintenance.
- Collaborate with other hotel departments (Housekeeping, F&B) to meet their specific linen requirements efficiently.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and service quality.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in laundry operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role, preferably within the hospitality sector.
- Strong understanding of laundry chemicals, machinery, and washing techniques.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, control costs, and maintain inventory.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Proficiency in English (both written and verbal).
- Sound knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene regulations relevant to laundry operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or certificate in Hospitality Management, Laundry Operations, or a related field.
- Experience with advanced laundry management software or systems.
- Knowledge of sustainable laundry practices and water/energy conservation.
- First Aid and Fire Safety certification.
