Job Description
We are urgently seeking a diligent and physically fit Laundry Operator to join our production team in Thetsane, Maseru. This is an immediate start position crucial for maintaining the cleanliness and readiness of various textile items, including uniforms, production samples, and other operational materials within our manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full laundry cycle, from sorting and washing to drying, folding, and preparing items for distribution or further processing. You will operate industrial laundry machinery, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards of hygiene and quality. Attention to detail is paramount, as you will be handling a variety of fabrics and ensuring their proper care. Key Responsibilities
- Sort and separate laundry items by fabric type, color, and required cleaning methods.
- Load and unload industrial washing machines, ensuring correct water levels, detergents, and cycle settings.
- Operate large-capacity dryers, setting appropriate temperatures and times to prevent damage to fabrics.
- Inspect laundered items for cleanliness, stains, and damage; re-wash or report as necessary.
- Fold, iron, and package clean linens, uniforms, and other textile items neatly and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized laundry area, including regular cleaning of machines and workspace.
- Report any malfunctioning equipment or maintenance needs to the supervisor promptly.
- Monitor and manage laundry supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and company policies.
- Assist with inventory counts and record-keeping of items processed.
Required Skills
- Ability to read and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items (up to 20kg), bend, and stoop.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify imperfections or damage.
