Job Description

Shoprite Ha Foso is seeking a diligent and reliable Laundry Porter to join our dedicated team. This crucial full-time role involves managing the laundry operations for our store, ensuring all textiles, including staff uniforms, cleaning cloths, and other fabric items, are meticulously cleaned, maintained, and readily available. As a Laundry Porter, you will be an essential part of our back-of-house operations, directly contributing to the hygiene standards and smooth functioning of our supermarket.
Your day-to-day will involve a variety of tasks, from the initial collection of soiled items to their careful sorting, washing, drying, and precise folding. You will be responsible for operating commercial laundry equipment efficiently and safely, adhering to all sanitation and safety protocols. Key Responsibilities
- Collect, sort, wash, dry, and fold all store-related laundry items, including staff uniforms and cleaning cloths.
- Operate and maintain commercial laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
- Inspect items for stains, damage, or wear and report any issues to management.
- Adhere strictly to hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized laundry area, ensuring proper storage of cleaned items.
- Manage inventory of laundry supplies and report needs for restocking.
- Assist with other general cleaning and porter duties as required.
- Ensure timely availability of clean uniforms and textiles for staff and operational needs.
