Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous Laundry Support professional to join our vibrant team at Maluti Mountain Lodge. As a Laundry Support team member, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and presentation that our guests expect and deserve. This position involves ensuring all hotel linens, towels, and staff uniforms are impeccably cleaned, pressed, and prepared for use. Your attention to detail will directly contribute to the comfort and satisfaction of our guests, impacting their overall experience with us. This is a hands-on role requiring physical stamina, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to efficiency and quality. You will be responsible for operating laundry equipment, handling various types of fabrics, and adhering to strict hygiene and safety protocols. Key Responsibilities
- Sort laundry items by color, fabric type, and degree of soiling to ensure proper washing procedures.
- Operate washing machines, dryers, and ironing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload laundry, ensuring correct water temperatures, detergents, and other additives are used.
- Inspect items for stains or damage before and after washing, reporting any issues to the supervisor.
- Fold, press, and neatly stack linens, towels, and uniforms according to lodge standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area and equipment.
- Monitor inventory of laundry supplies and report needs to management.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations and procedures.
- Assist with other hotel operational tasks as needed, particularly during peak periods.
Required Skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good physical stamina, capable of lifting and moving heavy laundry bags.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Basic understanding of English or Sesotho for communication.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a laundry or housekeeping role, preferably within a hotel or hospitality setting.
- Knowledge of various fabric types and appropriate cleaning methods.
- Familiarity with industrial laundry equipment.
