Key Responsibilities
- Sort, wash, dry, iron, and fold all hotel linens, towels, and staff uniforms according to established procedures and schedules.
- Operate and maintain industrial washing machines, dryers, and ironing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Inspect items for stains or damage, pre-treating and re-washing as necessary to ensure high-quality standards.
- Handle delicate fabrics and specialty items with appropriate care.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and linens, reporting shortages to management.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations within the laundry area.
- Assist with other general housekeeping duties or special projects as needed.
- Ensure the laundry area is kept clean, organized, and free of hazards at all times.
- Communicate effectively with other hotel departments regarding linen requirements and special requests.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items (up to 25 kg), and perform repetitive tasks.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills to follow instructions and manage inventory.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Understanding and adherence to safety protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (at least 6 months) in a commercial laundry or hospitality setting.
- Familiarity with operating industrial laundry machinery and equipment.
- Knowledge of various fabric types and appropriate washing/drying techniques.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
