Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and efficient Laundry Worker to join our vibrant Hotel Department team in Bilborough, Nottingham. This crucial full-time position ensures the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene for all hotel linens, uniforms, and guest items. As a Laundry Worker, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the pristine appearance and operational smoothness of our esteemed establishment. This role involves operating commercial laundry equipment, sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing a large volume of laundry daily, all while adhering to strict health and safety guidelines. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain industrial washing, drying, and ironing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Sort soiled laundry by type, colour, and soil level, ensuring proper handling procedures.
- Load and unload machines according to capacity guidelines and machine specifications.
- Monitor laundry cycles and chemical levels, making adjustments as needed.
- Fold, stack, and organize clean linens, towels, and uniforms for distribution to various hotel departments.
- Inspect all laundered items for damage or stains, reporting any issues to management.
- Maintain a clean and organized laundry room, including equipment and work areas.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and hotel policies.
- Assist with inventory management of laundry supplies and report stock levels.
- Perform minor maintenance on laundry equipment and report major malfunctions.
- Ensure timely delivery of clean laundry to guest rooms, restaurants, and other hotel sections.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to operate commercial laundry equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify imperfections.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift, push, and pull heavy laundry bags and carts (up to 25kg).
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Understanding of laundry chemicals and their safe usage.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations in a laundry environment.
- Good communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hotel or commercial laundry setting.
