Job Description
Mafeteng Hotel is urgently seeking a diligent and physically capable Laundry Worker to join our dedicated team on a full-time basis, with an immediate start. In this essential role, you will be responsible for the meticulous care and processing of all hotel linens, uniforms, and guest laundry, ensuring they meet our rigorous standards of cleanliness and presentation. Your day-to-day tasks will involve sorting items by fabric type and colour, operating industrial washing and drying machines, and carefully pressing and folding a wide variety of textiles. Attention to detail is paramount, as you will be inspecting items for stains or damage before and after cleaning, and ensuring that all items are perfectly presented for our guests. You will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organised laundry area, adhering to all health and safety guidelines, and assisting with inventory management of laundry supplies. This position requires reliability, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Key Responsibilities
- Sort laundry items by colour, fabric type, and degree of soiling.
- Operate and maintain industrial washing, drying, and ironing machines.
- Inspect all items for stains, damage, and quality of cleaning before folding.
- Fold, hang, and package cleaned laundry according to hotel standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the laundry facility.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Manage inventory of laundry supplies and report needs to supervisor.
- Handle guest laundry requests with care and discretion.
- Communicate effectively with other hotel departments regarding laundry needs.
