Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Full-Time Librarian to join our growing team in Sulphur, Louisiana. This pivotal role involves overseeing our comprehensive internal knowledge resources, both physical and digital, ensuring that our employees have seamless access to the information they need to thrive. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain our internal library collection, including physical books, journals, and digital resources.
- Develop and implement effective cataloging, classification, and indexing systems for all library materials.
- Assist employees with research inquiries, resource discovery, and information retrieval.
- Curate relevant resources to support professional development, project research, and organizational learning goals.
- Oversee the acquisition, processing, and deaccessioning of library materials.
- Manage subscriptions to online databases, journals, and digital information platforms.
- Conduct information literacy training and workshops for employees.
- Ensure compliance with copyright laws and intellectual property rights.
- Implement and maintain library management software and digital asset management systems.
- Stay abreast of emerging library technologies and best practices in information science.
- Collaborate with various departments to understand their information needs and provide tailored support.
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Library Science (MLS) or Master’s in Information Science (MLIS) from an ALA-accredited program.
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) working in a library or information management role.
- Proficiency with library management systems (e.g., Koha, Evergreen, WorldCat).
- Strong understanding of cataloging standards (e.g., MARC21, RDA, AACR2) and classification systems (e.g., LC, Dewey).
- Excellent research and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage digital resources and online databases.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
