Mota-Engil is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-Time Lighting Technician Aide to join our project team in Ontupaia, Monapo. As a Lighting Technician Aide, you will play a crucial support role in ensuring the proper setup, operation, and maintenance of various lighting systems across our project sites. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist lead lighting technicians with the setup, installation, and dismantling of various lighting fixtures and related equipment.
  • Safely handle, transport, and store lighting gear, cables, and power distribution units.
  • Perform routine checks and basic preventative maintenance on lighting systems and components to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Follow precise instructions from supervisors and lead technicians regarding lighting arrangements and operational procedures.
  • Help troubleshoot minor lighting issues, identify faulty equipment, and assist with repairs or replacements.
  • Ensure all electrical connections are secure, properly insulated, and adhere to safety standards to prevent hazards.
  • Provide support during power outages or system failures, assisting with generator setup and emergency lighting solutions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including proper waste disposal and equipment storage.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols, policies, and industry regulations.
  • Learn and apply new technical skills and knowledge under the guidance of senior team members.

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of electrical principles and safety procedures.
  • Proficiency in using common hand and power tools safely.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 25 kg).
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team.
  • Basic problem-solving aptitude for identifying and addressing minor technical issues.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and working methods.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and on different terrains.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience (e.g., 6-12 months) in a similar technical support role, such as a stagehand, electrician's helper, or general laborer with electrical exposure.
  • Vocational training, certification, or coursework in electrical work, lighting technology, or a related technical field.
  • Familiarity with various types of lighting equipment, including LEDs, floodlights, spotlights, and portable generators.
  • Knowledge of basic wiring and circuit safety.
  • Possession of a valid First Aid certification.
