Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a diverse range of dishes, strictly adhering to established recipes, quality standards, and portion control guidelines, ensuring every meal meets the restaurant's reputation for consistency and excellent presentation.
  • Actively manage kitchen inventory, including diligent ordering, accurate receiving, and proper, FIFO (First-In, First-Out) compliant storage of all food supplies, raw ingredients, and prepared items.
  • Regularly monitor and maintain appropriate stock levels for all kitchen provisions, working proactively to minimize waste, prevent spoilage, and reduce unnecessary costs.
  • Adhere strictly to all local and national food safety and hygiene regulations, including comprehensive understanding and application of HACCP principles, to ensure a safe and sanitary kitchen environment at all times.
  • Proficiently operate, clean, and maintain all kitchen equipment and machinery safely and efficiently, promptly reporting any malfunctions or necessary repairs.
  • Collaborate effectively with the head chef, sous chefs, and other kitchen staff, maintaining clear communication to ensure seamless service flow and timely delivery of orders, especially during peak operating hours.
  • Actively assist in menu development, contributing creative ideas for new dishes, suggesting improvements to existing recipes, and participating in tasting sessions.
  • Consistently clean and organize the entire kitchen area, including workstations, cooking surfaces, utensils, and storage areas, at the start, during, and end of each shift.
  • Handle all special dietary requests, food allergies, and intolerance requirements with utmost care, precision, and a thorough understanding of cross-contamination prevention.
  • Actively contribute to fostering a positive, respectful, and cooperative team environment, supporting colleagues and upholding restaurant standards.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a cook in a professional kitchen setting (minimum 3 years).
  • Solid understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and kitchen procedures.
