Job Description
The Live-in Storekeeper role requires a dedicated and highly organized individual to meticulously manage all aspects of inventory and stock control for our operations in Ikorodu, Lagos. This is a critical position, ensuring the seamless flow of goods, maintaining accurate records, and contributing significantly to our overall operational efficiency. You will be responsible for the end-to-end process of receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and dispatching items, always maintaining a clean, orderly, and secure store environment, and conducting regular stock audits. Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, verify, store, and accurately issue goods, supplies, and equipment in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain precise and up-to-date inventory records, utilizing both manual tracking systems and computerized inventory management software.
- Conduct regular physical stock counts (cycle counts and annual inventories) and meticulously reconcile them with system records, diligently investigating and resolving any discrepancies.
- Ensure proper storage conditions, accessibility, and security of all items, maintaining a consistently clean, organized, and safe store environment.
- Prepare comprehensive requisitions for stock replenishment to maintain optimal inventory levels and prevent stock-outs.
- Coordinate effectively with procurement, logistics, and other internal departments regarding stock levels, upcoming deliveries, and dispatches.
- Implement and rigorously enforce all health, safety, and security regulations and procedures within the store premises.
- Assist actively in the loading and unloading of goods, ensuring proper handling and care.
- Monitor stock closely for expiry dates, potential damage, obsolescence, or any quality issues, reporting findings promptly.
- Generate accurate and insightful inventory reports as required by management for decision-making.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (at least 2 years) as a Storekeeper, Inventory Clerk, or in a similar inventory management role.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with a methodical approach to tasks.
- Proficiency in inventory management software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Excellent attention to detail and unwavering commitment to accuracy.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, carrying, and moving items, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrable high level of integrity, trustworthiness, and reliability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ordinary National Diploma (OND), Higher National Diploma (HND), or Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Prior experience with inventory control methods such as FIFO (First-In, First-Out) or LIFO (Last-In, First-Out).
- Basic knowledge of safety and security procedures within a warehouse or retail store environment.
