Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and compassionate Livestock Caretaker to join a thriving agricultural enterprise through Career.zycto in the Goodlands, Rivière du Rempart District. This pivotal role involves the daily care and management of various farm animals, ensuring their health, comfort, and productivity. As a Livestock Caretaker, you will be integral to the smooth operation of the farm, working closely with a dedicated team to maintain high standards of animal welfare and farm hygiene.

Your day will typically begin with a thorough check of all animal enclosures, observing their behaviour for any signs of distress or illness. A critical component of this role is the meticulous preparation and distribution of feed and fresh water, adhering strictly to established dietary plans and feeding schedules tailored to each animal’s specific needs and life stage. You will also be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of barns, pens, and surrounding areas, ensuring a sanitary environment that promotes animal health and prevents the spread of disease. This includes regular mucking out, sanitizing equipment, and performing general farm maintenance tasks.

Beyond routine care, you will assist with basic health monitoring, such as administering medications under supervision, identifying common ailments, and promptly reporting any health concerns to the farm manager. Record-keeping is another key aspect, requiring accurate documentation of feeding, breeding cycles, health treatments, and any notable animal behaviours. This role offers an incredible opportunity to develop your expertise in animal husbandry within a supportive and forward-thinking farm environment, contributing directly to the success of local agriculture. We value individuals who are proactive, reliable, and possess a genuine love for animals and farm life. If you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and commit to the well-being of our livestock, we encourage you to apply.
