Job Description

Career.zycto is excited to partner with a reputable local farm in the Quatre Bornes area, seeking a dedicated and experienced Livestock Caretaker to join their dynamic team. This pivotal role involves the daily care and well-being of various farm animals, ensuring their optimal health, nutrition, and comfort. If you have a true passion for animal husbandry, a strong work ethic, and a desire to contribute to a thriving agricultural environment, we encourage you to apply.

As a Livestock Caretaker, you will be instrumental in the daily operational success of the farm. Your responsibilities will extend beyond mere feeding; you will be an observant guardian, quick to identify any signs of distress or illness, and proactive in maintaining a clean, safe, and stimulating environment for the livestock. This role offers the opportunity to work hands-on with animals, develop your knowledge of sustainable farming practices, and be a vital part of a team committed to ethical animal treatment and high-quality agricultural output. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, understands the rhythms of farm life, and is ready to embrace the varied challenges and rewards that come with caring for living creatures. This position is ideal for an individual who values routine, enjoys outdoor work, and possesses a keen eye for detail in an agricultural setting.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the continuous health and productivity of the farm’s animal population. This includes not just the physical acts of feeding and cleaning, but also understanding the nuances of animal behavior and recognizing subtle changes that could indicate health issues. Your dedication to maintaining a harmonious and productive farm environment will directly impact the welfare of the animals and the overall success of the agricultural enterprise. We foster a collaborative atmosphere where your input and observations are valued, contributing to best practices in animal management and continuous improvement across the farm. You’ll be involved in ensuring feed quality, managing water supplies, and assisting with rotational grazing where applicable, all while strictly adhering to safety and hygiene standards. This is more than just a job; it’s a commitment to the living creatures that form the heart of our farm, providing essential resources to the local community. Join a team where your hard work is recognized and where you can truly make a difference every single day, contributing to the vitality of Mauritius’s agricultural sector.
