Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and distribute feed to various types of livestock according to established schedules and dietary requirements.
- Monitor livestock during feeding times to ensure all animals are consuming feed properly and identify any signs of illness or distress.
- Clean and maintain feeding areas, water troughs, and animal pens to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Assist with moving and handling livestock safely and humanely.
- Report any unusual animal behavior, facility issues, or feed concerns to supervisors promptly.
- Operate basic farm equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
- Support general farm duties as needed, including mending fences, moving supplies, and maintaining equipment.
- Adhere strictly to all farm safety protocols and animal welfare guidelines.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and carrying heavy bags of feed (up to 50 lbs) and standing for long periods.
- Strong work ethic and reliability, with a commitment to punctuality.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions accurately.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic communication skills to interact with colleagues and supervisors.
