Career.zycto is partnering with a prominent financial institution in Maghull, Liverpool, to recruit a dedicated and skilled Loan Officer specializing in Credit Evaluation & Disbursement. This is a pivotal role where your expertise will directly contribute to our clients’ success and the institution’s responsible lending practices, ensuring sustainable growth for both the institution and its borrowers.

As a Loan Officer, you will be at the forefront of the lending process, responsible for conducting thorough credit assessments for a variety of loan products, including personal loans, mortgages, and business financing. This involves analysing financial statements, credit reports, collateral, and other relevant documentation to determine applicant eligibility and risk levels. You will be tasked with structuring appropriate loan products that meet both the client’s needs and the institution’s lending policies, always adhering to regulatory guidelines and internal compliance standards. Furthermore, your role will involve the efficient and compliant disbursement of approved funds, managing all necessary paperwork and ensuring a seamless experience for the client.

You will manage a diverse portfolio of clients, from individual consumers seeking personal loans to small and medium-sized enterprises requiring business financing. This position demands a comprehensive understanding of financial analysis, risk assessment methodologies, and up-to-date knowledge of regulatory compliance. Beyond the analytical, you will need exceptional communication and client service skills to build rapport, explain complex financial terms clearly, and guide clients through every step of the application and disbursement process. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive credit analysis for a variety of loan applications (personal, mortgage, business).
  • Evaluate financial statements, credit reports, collateral, and other documentation to assess applicant creditworthiness and risk.
  • Structure and recommend appropriate loan products tailored to client needs while adhering to lending policies.
  • Ensure all loan applications and disbursements comply with regulatory guidelines, internal policies, and ethical lending practices.
  • Process approved loan disbursements efficiently and accurately, managing all required documentation.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with applicants, explaining loan terms, conditions, and application status.
  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based client relationships, providing excellent customer service and guidance.
  • Monitor loan portfolios to identify potential risks, opportunities, or areas for proactive client support.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, market trends, lending regulations, and new financial products.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in credit evaluation, loan processing, or a similar financial role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent understanding of financial statements, credit reports, and collateral assessment.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and risk assessment techniques.
  • Exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage a diverse caseload, and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with lending software and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
  • Possession of relevant professional certifications (e.g., CeMAP, CeRER, or similar lending qualifications).
  • Previous experience with specific loan products such as mortgages, commercial loans, or SME financing.
  • Knowledge of the local Maghull and wider Liverpool financial market dynamics.
