VELOGIC, a leading integrated logistics provider and a proud member of the Rogers Group, is seeking a highly motivated Logistics Clerk specializing in shipping and documentation to join our bustling team in Vieux Quatre Bornes. You will be responsible for managing a high volume of shipping documents, coordinating closely with various internal departments, external suppliers, clients, and customs officials. Key Responsibilities
- Process and manage all shipping and customs documentation, including bills of lading, airway bills, customs declarations, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
- Coordinate with internal logistics, warehousing, and sales teams to ensure timely and accurate preparation of shipments.
- Liaise with external stakeholders such as carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, suppliers, and clients to facilitate smooth operations.
- Track and trace shipments, providing regular updates to clients and resolving any transit-related issues or delays.
- Maintain meticulous records of all incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Handle inquiries related to shipping schedules, rates, and documentation, providing professional and timely responses.
- Ensure strict adherence to local and international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and company policies.
- Assist in the preparation of reports on shipping activities, performance metrics, and compliance audits.
- Utilize logistics software and systems to input data, generate reports, and manage document flow efficiently.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of proven experience in a logistics, shipping, or administrative role, preferably with a focus on documentation.
- Strong understanding of shipping procedures, import/export documentation, and customs regulations.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and document processing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with logistics management software.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and French (Creole is a plus).
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Diploma or Certificate in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) or specialized logistics software.
- Familiarity with local Mauritian customs procedures and regulations.
