Career.zycto is seeking a meticulous and highly organized Logistics Clerk with a strong focus on shipping and documentation to join our bustling operations team in Plaine Magnien. This pivotal role involves ensuring the smooth and accurate flow of goods, from dispatch to delivery, by managing all associated paperwork and coordinating with various internal and external stakeholders. You will be instrumental in maintaining compliance with international shipping regulations, preparing customs documentation, and tracking shipments to guarantee timely and cost-effective delivery. You will be responsible for processing orders, generating shipping labels, handling freight quotes, and resolving any discrepancies that may arise during transit. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, examine, and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, packing lists, and commercial invoices.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers to ensure timely dispatch and receipt of goods.
  • Track and trace shipments, providing regular updates to internal teams and clients regarding status and estimated delivery times.
  • Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring data integrity in our logistics management system.
  • Verify conformity of goods with shipping documents and resolve discrepancies or damages with relevant parties.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports on logistics performance, inventory levels, and shipping costs.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, national, and international shipping regulations and company policies.
  • Liaise with warehousing and inventory teams to ensure seamless material flow and order fulfillment.
  • Process import/export permits and licenses as required for specific shipments.
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments (sales, purchasing, customer service) to facilitate smooth operations.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in logistics documentation and shipping procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English and French.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Problem-solving aptitude with a proactive approach.
  • Basic understanding of customs regulations and international trade terms (Incoterms).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or certification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Previous experience with a logistics management software (LMS) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
  • Knowledge of import/export procedures specific to Mauritius.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced shipping or freight forwarding environment.
