Job Description

GraceKennedy Limited is seeking a dedicated Logistics Coordinator with expertise in warehouse and delivery management to join our dynamic team in Jack’s Hill, St. Andrew. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless flow of goods from our warehouses to their final destinations, contributing significantly to our operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for coordinating daily logistics activities, including receiving, storing, dispatching, and tracking shipments, both inbound and outbound. Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor supply chain operations, including warehouse activities, transportation, and delivery schedules.
- Plan and track the shipment of final products according to customer requirements and company policies, ensuring on-time delivery.
- Oversee the efficient receiving, storage, and dispatch of goods, ensuring accuracy, proper documentation, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts, physical verification, and system updates, reconciling any discrepancies promptly.
- Collaborate closely with warehouse staff, delivery drivers, and external logistics partners to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
- Prepare and process shipping documents, invoices, purchase orders, and other necessary paperwork in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Resolve any logistical issues that may arise, such as delays, damages, or missed deliveries, in a prompt, professional, and customer-focused manner.
- Negotiate with carriers, suppliers, and external transportation companies to secure optimal rates and services, optimizing transport costs.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant local and international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and company policies.
- Implement and enforce best practices in warehouse management, inventory control, and fleet operations to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of logistics processes and systems through data-driven insights and innovative solutions.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Logistics Coordinator or in a similar role (at least 4 years).
- In-depth knowledge of logistics and supply chain management principles, including warehousing, transportation, and inventory control.
- Hands-on experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially advanced Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, demonstrating strong initiative and problem-solving capabilities.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and meticulous attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certification in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Project Management (e.g., CSCP, CPIM).
- Experience with international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and import/export documentation.
- Familiarity with local geographical areas and delivery routes within St. Andrew and wider Jamaica.
- Experience working within the food and beverage distribution sector.
