Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor inbound and outbound logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
- Optimize delivery routes and schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective distribution of goods across Kingston and surrounding areas.
- Liaise effectively with warehouse teams, drivers, suppliers, and customers to ensure seamless communication and execution of logistical plans.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments, and all relevant delivery documentation, utilizing designated logistics software and systems.
- Track and trace shipments in real-time, proactively identifying and resolving any potential delays, discrepancies, or issues that may arise during transit.
- Prepare and process necessary documentation for domestic and, when required, international shipments, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
- Monitor carrier performance and adherence to service level agreements, providing feedback for continuous improvement.
- Analyze logistical data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement efficiency-boosting strategies.
- Ensure strict compliance with all relevant transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Assist in the negotiation of freight rates and service contracts with carriers and logistics providers to secure optimal terms.
- Generate regular reports on logistics performance, costs, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for management review.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as a Logistics Coordinator or similar role, specifically in warehouse and delivery operations.
- Strong understanding of supply chain management principles and efficient warehouse operations.
- Proficiency in logistics software (e.g., WMS, TMS) and advanced capabilities in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting professionally with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, with a proactive and analytical approach to issue resolution.
