Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Logistics Dispatch Clerk to join our dynamic team in Bububu, Zanzibar City. As a Logistics Dispatch Clerk, you will be at the heart of our operations, ensuring the smooth and timely flow of goods from our Bububu facility. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate dispatch activities, manage documentation, and serve as a key point of contact between our operations team, drivers, and clients. Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily dispatch schedules for incoming and outgoing cargo, ensuring optimal routing and timely deliveries.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, vessels, and clients regarding dispatch times, delays, and delivery confirmations.
- Prepare and verify all necessary shipping documentation, including waybills, manifests, customs declarations, and delivery notes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all dispatch activities, cargo movements, and delivery statuses.
- Address and resolve any dispatch-related issues or discrepancies promptly and efficiently, escalating complex problems as needed.
- Monitor inventory levels at the dispatch point and coordinate with the warehouse team for stock replenishment.
- Ensure strict adherence to all local and international logistics, safety, and customs regulations.
- Assist in loading and unloading coordination, ensuring proper handling and security of goods.
- Provide administrative support to the logistics department as required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a dispatch, logistics, or administrative role, preferably within the shipping industry.
- Strong organizational skills with an exceptional ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Swahili and English.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and record-keeping.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Familiarity with the geography of Zanzibar and surrounding areas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or certificate in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

- Knowledge of local customs procedures and shipping regulations in Tanzania.
