Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive logistics strategies to optimize supply chain efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Oversee daily logistics operations, including warehousing, inventory management, transportation, and customs clearance.
  • Manage and lead a dedicated logistics team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
  • Negotiate contracts with carriers, freight forwarders, and suppliers to secure favorable terms and service levels.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all national and international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and health and safety standards.
  • Utilize and optimize logistics software (e.g., TMS, WMS) to track shipments, manage inventory, and analyze performance data.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate logistics performance and generate regular reports for senior management.
  • Collaborate with procurement, sales, and production teams to forecast demand, plan inventory levels, and ensure product availability.
  • Manage budget for logistics operations, ensuring efficient resource allocation and expenditure control.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Logistics Manager or similar role (minimum 5 years).
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of supply chain management principles and logistics operations.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Superior negotiation and vendor management abilities.
  • Solid understanding of international shipping regulations and customs procedures.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Financial acumen and experience with budget management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Professional certification in logistics or supply chain (e.g., CILT, APICS).
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Familiarity with the UK and European logistics landscape.
  • Additional language proficiency (beneficial for international dealings).
