Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage daily dispatch operations, including scheduling, routing, and tracking of vehicles and drivers.
- Monitor real-time shipment progress, identify potential delays, and implement proactive solutions to mitigate disruptions.
- Communicate effectively with drivers regarding routes, schedules, and any issues encountered during transit.
- Liaise with clients to provide updates on delivery status, address inquiries, and resolve any service-related concerns.
- Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to optimize routes, maximize fleet efficiency, and minimize operational costs.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, including driver logs, delivery confirmations, and incident reports.
- Collaborate with warehouse and inventory teams to ensure timely loading and unloading of goods.
- Conduct regular performance reviews of dispatch processes and suggest improvements for enhanced efficiency and service quality.
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics, dispatch, or transportation management.
- Proficiency in using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and other logistics software.
- Strong geographical knowledge of the Waterbury region and surrounding areas.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to operational challenges.
