Job Description
Siginon Group is seeking a highly motivated and meticulous Logistics Officer with a strong focus on Warehouse Coordination to join our dynamic team in Spring Valley, Nairobi. This critical role is central to ensuring the efficient and smooth operation of our warehouse facilities, playing a pivotal part in our overarching supply chain excellence. The successful candidate will be instrumental in managing the day-to-day coordination of warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, dispatch, and inventory control. You will be responsible for optimizing warehouse space utilization, implementing best practices for material handling, and ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols and quality standards. This position requires a proactive individual with a keen eye for detail, exceptional organizational skills, and a proven ability to manage complex logistical processes under pressure.
As a Logistics Officer specializing in Warehouse Coordination, you will work closely with various internal departments, including procurement, transport, and customer service, to ensure the seamless flow of goods and information across the supply chain. Your responsibilities will extend to supervising warehouse staff, providing guidance, and fostering a culture of efficiency and accountability. Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee all inbound and outbound warehouse operations, including receiving, inspection, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch of goods.
- Manage and maintain accurate inventory records using a Warehouse Management System (WMS), conducting regular stock counts and reconciling discrepancies.
- Optimize warehouse layout and space utilization to maximize efficiency and ensure proper segregation of goods.
- Implement and enforce strict safety protocols and quality control measures to ensure a safe working environment and maintain product integrity.
- Supervise, train, and mentor warehouse staff, ensuring adherence to operational procedures and performance targets.
- Collaborate with procurement, transport, and customer service teams to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of orders.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on warehouse activities, inventory levels, and operational performance for management review.
- Identify and recommend improvements in warehouse processes and technologies to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Ensure all documentation related to warehouse operations, including waybills, delivery notes, and inventory reports, is accurately completed and filed.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in warehouse management or logistics coordination roles.
- Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory control software.
- Strong understanding of logistics, supply chain principles, and warehousing best practices.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (e.g., CILT, KISM).
- Experience with specific WMS platforms widely used in the industry.
- Knowledge of local and international shipping regulations and customs procedures.
