Job Description

GraceKennedy Limited is seeking a highly organized and proactive Logistics Officer with a strong focus on Warehouse Coordination to join our operations in Lucea, Hanover Parish, Jamaica. This vital role is at the heart of our supply chain, ensuring the efficient movement, storage, and distribution of goods, directly impacting our ability to serve our customers across Jamaica. You will be responsible for overseeing daily warehouse activities, optimizing inventory management, streamlining shipping and receiving processes, and maintaining a safe and productive work environment. The ideal candidate will possess an keen eye for detail, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a proven track record in logistics and warehouse operations. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching goods efficiently and accurately.
  • Implement and maintain robust inventory control systems to ensure accurate stock levels, minimize discrepancies, and prevent stock-outs.
  • Coordinate with transportation teams to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products to various destinations.
  • Oversee the proper storage and handling of diverse product categories, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Supervise warehouse staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to foster a productive and engaged team.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the warehouse facility and equipment to ensure optimal functionality and adherence to safety regulations.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on warehouse activities, inventory status, and logistics performance metrics for management review.
  • Collaborate with procurement, sales, and customer service departments to optimize supply chain efficiency and meet customer demands.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse processes, reduce operational costs, and increase productivity.
  • Ensure all logistics documentation, including waybills, invoices, and customs forms, are accurate and properly managed.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in logistics, warehouse management, or supply chain operations.
  • Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory control software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential and ability to motivate a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Warehouse Operations (e.g., CSCP, CPIM).
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Knowledge of Jamaican customs regulations and import/export procedures.
