Job Description

Azam Marine and Coastal Transport is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Logistics Route Planner to join our dedicated team in Beit al Ras, Zanzibar City. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, optimize, and manage efficient logistical routes for cargo and supply distribution, considering factors like cost, time, capacity, and geographical constraints.
  • Utilize advanced routing software and GIS tools to generate optimal plans and simulate various scenarios.
  • Analyze historical data and real-time information to identify trends, predict potential issues, and continuously improve route performance.
  • Collaborate closely with fleet management, warehouse operations, and customer service teams to ensure seamless execution of planned routes.
  • Monitor route progress and driver/vessel performance, making real-time adjustments as needed to address unforeseen challenges or delays.
  • Ensure all routing plans comply with local and international transport regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Prepare detailed reports on route efficiency, fuel consumption, delivery times, and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing overall supply chain efficiency and technological integration.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain planning.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
  • Proficiency in logistics software, route optimization tools, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fluent in English and Swahili.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of geographical mapping and navigation principles.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification in Logistics and Transport (e.g., CILT).
  • Experience with marine logistics and coastal transport operations.
  • Knowledge of Zanzibar's specific road network and local logistical challenges.
