Azam Marine and Coastal Transport is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Logistics Route Planner to join our dedicated team in Beit al Ras, Zanzibar City. Key Responsibilities
- Design, optimize, and manage efficient logistical routes for cargo and supply distribution, considering factors like cost, time, capacity, and geographical constraints.
- Utilize advanced routing software and GIS tools to generate optimal plans and simulate various scenarios.
- Analyze historical data and real-time information to identify trends, predict potential issues, and continuously improve route performance.
- Collaborate closely with fleet management, warehouse operations, and customer service teams to ensure seamless execution of planned routes.
- Monitor route progress and driver/vessel performance, making real-time adjustments as needed to address unforeseen challenges or delays.
- Ensure all routing plans comply with local and international transport regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Prepare detailed reports on route efficiency, fuel consumption, delivery times, and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing overall supply chain efficiency and technological integration.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain planning.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
- Proficiency in logistics software, route optimization tools, and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fluent in English and Swahili.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of geographical mapping and navigation principles.
